Billing policy

The Foundation has set its facility fees at a level we regard as fair and reasonable.

We do not bulk bill but consideration is given to disadvantaged patients.

Fees for medical services

The level of fees charged by individual doctors at the Foundation is determined by the doctor.

Cosmetic services do not attract a Medicare rebate and the cost of these services should be discussed before proceeding.

Surgical procedures performed may attract a facility fee to cover the cost of consumables, e.g. material and dressings.

It is preferable that payment be made at the time of your visit as this helps reduce our overhead costs. Payments can be made by cash, cheque or credit card (Bankcard, MasterCard and Visa).

Fees for pathology services

If a specimen of skin is removed, or other samples collected, a separate account will be sent to you later from either the Foundation's dermatopathology laboratory or from another Pathology provider. This fee will be for the processing and reporting of your specimen or specimens.

Sometimes more than one pathology test is performed and so sometimes you may receive more than one bill for pathology.

There are some pathology tests which do not attract a Medicare benefit but these are not often needed and your doctor will discuss any costs like these with you.

If you have any questions regarding fees, please discuss your concerns with your doctor or the staff at the reception or nursing desks.
